The Woods Tea Co.
Vermont’s Famous Folk Group

Saturday, October 3, 2009 - 7:00 p.m.
Unadilla Valley Central School Auditorium

TThe Woods Tea Company is a musical group that defies categorization. They perform bluegrass, Celtic tunes, sea chanties, and folk songs with an equal ease and skill. In concert, the group draws on a wide variety of musical experience and expression. They employ as many as a dozen different instruments including banjos and bouzoukis, guitars and bodhrans, ukulele, hammered dulcimer and traditional tin whistles.

The Vermont-based group tours the country offering a mixture of lively and dry New England humor. After building a solid reputation in New England, Woods Tea Company started touring on the concert circuit nationwide, eventually playing in all of the lower 48 states. Notable performances include New York’s Lincoln Center (twice), The Chautauqua Institute, and appearances on PBS and National Public Radio who labeled them “Vermont’s hardest working folk group.”

The members of The Woods Tea Company include: Howard Wooden: Vocals, bass, guitar and bodhran; Mike Lussen: Vocals, five string bamjo, bodhran, bouzouki and guitar; Tom MacKenzie: Vocals, hammered dulcimer, banjo, guitar and ukulele; Patti Casey: Vocals, guitar, flute, pannywhistle and clogboard.
