This December on Saturday the 4th at the Unadilla Valley Central School auditorium you can experience “The Christmas Carol”, a literary masterpiece that reaches far beyond the holiday season, when “The Puppet People” arrive with their oversized marionettes to warm your hearts with this Charles Dickens' holiday classic.
Look for mean old Scrooge as he discovers Christmas is not a HUMBUG after all. This puppet spectacular features beautiful handcrafted marionettes, shadow puppets, gorgeous masks, lavish costumes, vivid sets, a professional soundtrack that includes many holiday favorites as well as a giant 9-foot parade puppet and guaranteed smile.
“The Puppet People” are members of the Puppeteers of America. They have performed in many schools, theaters, festivals, libraries, museums, community centers and churches throughout New York State, Massachusetts and Vermont.
This husband and wife team of Mark Carrigan and Michelle Smith-Carrigan have been entertaining people for over 20 years.
They have worked with the Capital Repertory Theatre; WXXA-FOX/ Channel 23; The Egg; Steamer 10 theatre; Actors’ Collaborative, Inc.; Arts in Education (Capital Region Center-Lincoln Center Institute).
“The Puppet People” handcraft all their own puppets, scenery and scripts.
All of their shows incorporate many different styles of puppetry with each show unique and distinct unto itself.
The Puppet People are currently in production of their own Television show. They have toured nationally with the Bennington Marionettes with whom they performed at Lincoln Center.
