Michelle Smith-Carrigan and Mark Carrigan of The Puppet People created "Bully Busters" along with a team of educators, parents and a school social worker at Saddlewood Elementary School in Albany, NY. It was made possible in part by the NYS Department of Education. This unique puppet show teaches elementary school kids character building, anger management and crisis intervention. Bully Busters is set in the less structured areas of school: the bus, the cafeteria, and the playground. The theme of the show is to teach kids to Stand Up For Yourself (SUFY), Stand Up For Others (SUFO), and when they should Tell A Grown Up (TAGU).

The plot of the show centers around three Bully Busters named SUFY, SUFO and TAGU. Their job is to catch Bully Monsters (which is what turns kids into bullies). With the help of various puppet characters as well as the audience, the Bully Busters reveal the best way to deal with bullies without resorting to violence. They demonstrate that kids have an important part in making a school bully-free. This show is presented in a 55 minute puppet performance, along with music, special effects and an original Bully Buster rap song.
